Hi, I’m Odelia, founder of The Legacy Writing Guide. I’m a bestselling and award-winning author, born and raised in France, where my love for words began with classical literature. I lived in Israel for 22 years, where I built a family and explored different careers. Today, I live in Colorado with my husband Sharon, our four children, and our dog Aristo.

Returning to writing brought me back to myself and revealed my true calling. I help others find clarity, healing, and self acceptance through guided life story writing.

My Story — and Yours

Writing has always been my way of celebrating life.
It offers a path to self acceptance, healing, and honoring the past. I believe every story matters. When we share our stories, we have the power to inspire, comfort, and connect with others. More than anything, storytelling is a celebration of who we are, where we have been, and what we have overcome.

Esther, raised in a kibbutz in Israel, embarks on a quest to find her birth mother in Paris. ‘You Are Allowed’ unveils her tumultuous journey: from her French childhood to an encounter with crime in Israel, an unexpected pregnancy, and buried secrets. Through precise prose, this narrative delves into Esther’s search for identity and belonging.

I’ve always enjoyed memoirs and learning about the lives of others. As I read I felt I was part of the story feeling all the emotions of Esther as she discovered the many challenges that are faced in a young girl’s life through adulthood. Her story made me laugh and cry with an ending that touched my heart.
